Tolkin v 1940. rokah

Džon Ronald Rul Tolkin (ang.: John Ronald Reuel Tolkien; 1892–1973) byl anglijskym pisateljem fantastiki i oksfordzkim profesorom.

Žitje

Tolkin rodil se v 1892 godu v Blumfontejnu v Svobodnoj državě Oranji (dnes Južnoafrikanska republika). Otec jegov Artur Tolkin byl urednikom banku. Matka jegov byla zvati Mabel Suffield. V 1895 godu Tolkin, mladši brat jegov Hilari i matka jihna do Birminghama v Anglije.

V 1916 godu oženil se z Edith Bratt. Jim rodili se četvero deti: Džon, Michael, Hristofor i Priscila. Umrel v 1973 godu v Bornmautu.
